Exchange of the Vows

Vows will be received by Fr. Patrick McLaughlin, brother to Tom and Kim

The priest invites the couple to declare their consent: Since it it you intention to enter into marriage, join your right hands, and declare your consent before God and his Church.

They join hands.

Tom says:

I, Tom, take you, Kim, to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life.

Kim says:

I, Kim, take you, Tom, to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life.

First, Tom is asked:

Tom, do you take Kim to be your wife? Do you promise to be true to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love her and honor her all the days of your life.

Tom: Yes.

Then, Kim is asked:

Kim, do you take Tom to be your husband? Do you promise to be true to him in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love him and honor him all the days of your life.

Kim: Yes.
